Location of File Management Utility

I have a new My Book, 6tb that I am trying to install on a HP Envy utilizing window 8.1 software. The first step on page 5 of the WD User manual reads

“Double-click the WD Apps setup file that appears in the listing for the drive in your computer’s File Management utility to display the WD Apps Setup wizard.”

Not being a computer expect I cannot find that utility program. Question where is it located” I posted that question on the HP forum but I have not yet received a reply. Did anyone else have the same problem and if so how was it corrected”.

Hello,

Can you share the model number of your drive?

Today my laptop reconzies my WD drive. But when I attempt to do a backup it I received the message
“No writable partition found” I thought that this was to be a “plug and play” installation. Its far from that. There seems to be a road block with each attempt to install the drive. Does anyone have an answer as to what the next step might be?

If this continues for a few more days I might consider returning it to Amazon and search for another supplier.

Hello,

Verify if the dirve is seen on the computer. You can also go to disk management and format the drive if necessary.
