Is there any update on this??

Can someone from WD please provide us an update to this issue? I realize that it may be being caused by a Java update but remote access for our users is impacted and the work arounds suggested here are only useful for machines we have control over. The main reason many of us purchased this specific unit was for the remote cloud access which is completely inoperable at this time. I have invested much time into getting this drive setup, loaded and backed up. I really do not want to have to replace it and start all over again.

An ETA on when a fix for this issue will be released would go a long way in helping me decide what I need to do. Thanks

This java thing is ridiculous, 4 weeks passed since they first reported and WD still did nothing about this issue.

I don’t know where I found the solution, but it worked for me. It’s not a fix to the Java problem, just a different way in. I downloaded and installed WD My Cloud, and got in that way. Works like a charm.  Maybe a little smoother than through the browser. I don’t know if it will ultimately drive me crazy too, but for now, I’m happy.

WD, please fix the remote issue with the latest Java ( version 7u51).

JamieinLV, what was your solution?  It would be good to share it with the community.

For me, I found a temporary solution.  I uninstalled the latest version of java and installed version 7u45.  This is working for now, however, this is NOT a PERMANENT solution!!

You can download the WD My Cloud app here: http://download.wdc.com/nas/WDMyCloud_win.exe and that works fine. I access mine via WinSCP though. Much better, but not as user friendly to set up perhaps since it needs SSH, a password change, and port forwarding on the router.

Thanks for the link.  It gave me back my access and I am exploring it now.

One thing that I’ve noticed so fair that I don’t like, relitive to the broswer based interface is that Lastpass cannot enter my passwords.  That makes the program a security issue too.

Just for grins, here is teh article from WD’s knowledge base.

Same Problem. I recently purchased my WD My Cloud and was working fine all the while. Now all of a sudden I am getting “Missing Permission Manifest” Error…   Seems like some Java certificate needs to be updated.

WE Pls rectify as ap, else am returning the product.

Thanks!

I was talking to support today, and was told to install java 7.45. That’s a horrible fix from WD. I forgot to ask for a download link for java 7.45 for OSX, and I have problem finding one.

I really hope they will fix this problem soon, or I will return my product…

I still can’t get access when logging in trough  https://www.wd2go.com. Maybe I am on the wrong topic here!

I guess the fix you are talking about  TonyPh12345, are the program update on WD My Cloud?

Anyone else how can login on  https://www.wd2go.com without java problems?

Hello everyone,

New Java update 7. 51 is causing the issue here and we are working on a resolution.

The default security settings of Java is preventing the shares from loading.

By lowering the settings of Java to low allowed the shares to be accessed again, on all browsers.

All,

The 03.04.01 released on 3/5/14 should resolve this problem.  If you have a different issue unrelated to this problem, but related to Java, you may want to reinstall Java.

What is this 03.04.01 released on 3/5/14.  Where do you download it?

Log into your cloud NAS and follow the prompts.

I’m having issues with this new firmware upgrade.  After downloading and installing it, I get a Error  (31101 - Invalid firmware package)

What do I need to do?

I am still having this same issue, bought my WD last week mainly because of the ability to access it remotely while away from my network. As others have been stating since the beginning of this thread, and the beginning of many others even dating back a few years, I keep getting the error “the server directory could not be mounted because it is not WebDAV-enabled or because it does not exist, or because node does not have proper access.”. I have got this using Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. OSX 10.9.2

I have also lowered the java security to the lowest setting (which really makes me nervous) yet this still has not fixed the problem. I need to know if there is ever going to be a fix, otherwise I will have to return this item.

what is the point of MyCloud if you can not securly and remotely access your data. Lowering the security level is the stupidist thing I ever hear of; one key selling point is security.

Either they fix this or it goes back in the box and back to Best Buy; and I stick with Dropbox and ICloud’s limited abilities.
