Lacking read/write rights when connecting locally via Windows

Hi,

I’m having problems with my read/write rights when I connect with a local account via Windows 11. I can see all the files and some works just fine opening, copying and removing, but others I’m lacking the right rights. How would I go about getting access rights in order on all files?
I’m on firmware 8.12.0-178.

Hi @Hainaickal,

Have you opened a Support Case? If not opened, for more information, please contact the WD Technical Support team for the best assistance and troubleshooting:

It happens the same to me but just with photos, some folders contain photos that i am not able to see or do anything with them

Since i needed my files ASAP i just copy them manually again

C&P from a different thread.

I’ve just managed to change the permissions by cutting a folder from the MCH using WD Discovery and then browsing with the desktop app and then pasting across the network to my windows 11 laptop. Then I cut and paste it back using my mapped local drive link. It works for me.
Bit more detail. I opened file explorer using the MCH desktop app icon which opens to Y: and then I opened a new explorer tab which is a folder on my windows 11 laptop. Finally I opened a third tab for Z: which is my local mapped drive. I cut from the Y: tab and paste into the Windows laptop folder. Then cut from the laptop folder, you may need to deselect the file/folder, and paste into the Z: tab. I refreshed the Z: tab before pasting.

Yes this is the same problem I’m having to everything else seams to be working except I can’t view photo through an app call. File Explore I use to be able to view photos through it now I get this
