Invalid certificate

Is it not time that WD put some effort into fixing the Invalid Certificate issue
Or at least made it possible for a non IT person to be able to understand it and fix it
There are many posts on this and most are not end user focussed
How many upset users does it take before we focus on finding a solution that can easily be understood and implemented by the average non IT end user that these units are marketed for?
I feel that I have been let down in terms of having a simple system to communicate stuff with my clients in a professional manner

While it might be possible for me to work hard on understanding all of the threads and make it so my laptop does not get upset all the time about invalid certificates. I cannot even log into My Cloud without going through all of the warnings

But that does not help my customers who get the same drama when they try to use a share email.
If the file I am trying to share is an exe then Norton remembers that it is “insecure” and either makes it very difficult to run - or in some cases depending on the end users security arrangements won’t let them run it at all.

I am using a standard WD My Book Live, http://mybooklive/ to manage settings and www.My Cloud.com to access it. All very standard so surely I should not be experiencing any issues accessing the web My Cloud site or sharing data on the drive unit?

Thanks

Have you reported this to Western Digital? Even if they have had this reported many times before, yours may be one that finally gets them to fix it. (Mentioning the problem on a user forum doesn’t count as reporting the problem to Western Digital.)

I don’t use the MyCloud service so I’ve never seen this error and know no details. However, trivial certificate errors are like your computer “crying wolf”. If you are conditioned to ignore them you will miss the important one that allows malware in.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of “invalid certificate” error are you getting? (There are many flavors.)
