Install new 5tb my passport for MAC

I’m trying to install a new my passport for mac - the installation program asks for an id and password and no password worked - not my apple id, not my WD password, which I reset. What password should I use? BTW, I waited 30 minutes for live chat and was disconnected several times w/o any response.

Finder does not display back up now as it used to - how do I use my passport to back up my computer.
