I switched off my pr4100 using the power button on the front

It automatically restarted, after few minutes it gave me a message power loss detected on port 1, so I went to the dashboard and cleared it…

I have two questions

  1. Is that message related to the fact that I did hard reset the system?
  2. Is there any chance of data loss/corruption by using the power button?

I would not think so unless it was in process of transferring data. Turning off power with switch is proper way to turn it off.

OK great… my system is setup as raid 5. I was not transferring any files, but if corruption occurred, does it detect that and fix it?

If it turned off correctly, then nothing is the matter unless you got a message that it is. This is a user to user forum, so any further questions should be directed to WD Support.
