Been using Hulu Plus on my WDTV live for the last 2 years. On monday it suddenly says “Hulu Plus is no longer supported on this device.” So now I have a square paperweight as i primarily use WDTV for Hulu.
I’m using a DNS service BTW.
Tried everything power cycle, flushed DNS, Changed DNS.
any fixes for this? mine attempts to reach Hulu’s site, but says not connecting, try later
would a firmware rollback allow connection? how does the device change connectivity, with the Hulu Plus app still on screen?
It is my recollection that Hulu Plus was discontinued on any WDTV a while ago.
Solution: Spend $40 (when on sale, $30) and get an Amazon Fire TV stick for access to Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu and many other streaming services; some free and some at a cost.
THANKS, BUT THAT OPTION WON’T WORK FOR ME. i HAVE AN OLDER, NON hdmi TV, AND NEED TO HAVE THE STREAM TO DEVICE COME FROM AN ETHERNET CABLE. FIRE TV STICK, AND ABOUT ALL OTHER LOW COST DEVICES REPLY ON WIFI TO GET THE STREAM - NO ETHERNET SOURCE INPUT.
I went to hulu’s site and did a chat with their support and to my surprise they told me that they never supported running on a western digital and it was just a fluke if it had. I then replied to tell them they better educate themselves as they were lost and a little reading goes a long way.
