How to perform a file system check?

Hi!

I am wondering how I can perform a check of the underlying Linux file-system on My Book Live? WDC support pointed me to Settings - Utilities - Diagnostic but I am not sure if the checks there do a check at file-system level or at hardware level.

If they do a file-system check, do I have to run the short test or the full test?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Anguel

What if you Google for “EXT3 File System Check”?

I spied the following in the MBL firmware update log . . .

This filesystem will be automatically checked every 25 mounts or
180 days, whichever comes first. Use tune2fs -c or -i to override.

(Not sure which file system will be checked.)

Thanks for the hint but I suppose that this answer does not apply to the WD GUI.
