How to formart a MyPassport for Mac

I have a MyPassport for Mac because I used to have a macbook pro. Now that I bought a pc running windows 10 I would like to know if I format my drive to be able to use it on both machines, although I don’t have access to my old mac because it doesn’t work anymore, will I lose all the information that is already installed inside my drive? Should I pass all the information back to another mac then format and then pass the information back to the already formatted drive? Because I don’t want to lose any of the information inside of it.

Hello, dixiediaz

Well, I would like to inform you that first of all backup the data that is stored on the drive using Macintosh, once it is backed up format the drive in exFAT, formatting the drive in exFAT will make the drive cross-compatible with different OS and then you can use the drive on different OS.
