How to change backup file name

Hey All,

Noob here. Just got my Passport Ultra 2 TB today.

My question as the subject says, I want to change the name of existing backup. Right now it’s called other backup. But for the likes of me can’t figure out how to rename it! I see nothing in the help file. I googled it and it comes up with a lot of stuff but not about renaming the backup file. I will be doing several backups in the days to come and I need a names other than other backup!

I’m using the WD software that came with the drive.

I hope someone can clue this noob in! Any hand holding would be appreciated!! :wink:

Hi madbrad60, there is no option to change the name of the backup, if you already started your backup, Smartware will create a folder called smartware.swstor, inside this folder you will find a folder with the name of your computer, this is the name that Smartware will use for the backup folder.
