I have installed phpMyAdmin as App on my NAS some time ago. Now I would like to update to the newest version (especially the newest MySQL version). Is there a way to do so? Or do I have to export my data, uninstall and install again?
The phpMyAdmin app is just a GUI to browse and manage your MySQL database.
Don’t get your hopes up for a MySQL update as it’s a core component of the My Cloud OS.
You should consider entware + mariadb or use docker if you really need a more recent version.
