How do I reset my password for My Passport auto backup device? The original password is just not working for some reason?? Frustrated with this.

How did you set password in My Passport?

If you used WD Security, the WD Security password protection is a 256-bit AES encryption and If the password is forgotten, the information stored on the hard drive cannot be retrieved. There is no “forgot password” option to reset the password. If the password cannot be remembered, the files on the drive are not accessible. The drive can still be used and reformatted by clicking the Erase button.

I only set the password once and haven’t changed it, but that password doesn’t work any more. Very strange indeed. I guess I will have to erase it and start again.
