HELP can no longer access the drive on the cloud app - "Stuck at updating" No cloud access

I upgraded to mycloud os 5 a couple of months ago, it worked fine for me. Until one day, my cloud app showed the “drive is offline” error. I can access the regular dashboard, but there it shows connection status as offline and every time I try to sign in back to my cloud id it gets stuck at updating.
After one minute it redirects back to the login page, and nothing changes.

Please help with this. how to get the cloud access back?!

What is Settings>Network>Status showing for your Internet access?

No, it shows as disabled, upon trying to log in, it gets stuck at updating

SOLVED! This should fix all the WDBCTL00----HWT failed to connect or any mycloud online issue.

I switched the network mode to “STATIC” from “DHCP”.
Go to Settings>Network

  1. Set the IP Address to your preference.
    (remember you’ll use that to access your cloud.)
    Make sure the IP you’re using is vacant
    (for that check your router’s home networking page and check mac addresses and assigned IPs).

Be sure to use the DNS, you can use Google DNS. ~ important step

Once you change the Network Mode to static, reboot it. Now upon accessing the dashboard you’ll be redirected to a long string domain hosted on a wd domain.
It should be something like https://device-local-xxxxxxxxx.remotewd.com

  1. Then I downloaded the latest firmware I could find, from this page.

I manually updated the firmware to Version: Firmware Release 5.20.113 (2/8/2022).
