Just bought a Gspeed Shuttle XL 112TB array configured in RAID 5 on a HP Z8 workstation with Windows 10.
Write performance was just 100 MB/S, whereas G-Tech support say it should be at least 1,000 MB/s possibly up to 1,500MB/s.
Spoke with a support guy, went into the RAID configuration in GSPEED Software Utility and by changing the Logical Drive Settings ‘Write Policy’ to ‘WriteThru’ (from WriteBack), the write performance improved to 1,000 MB/s.
There are consequences to this, wondering if anyone has an opinion on this?
PC is used for video editing, anyone else made this change?
