Hi.
Welcome to the WD Community.
Depending on how you put the files on the drive, there are different ways to copy the information to the new system.
If you used the WD Smartware backup software to backup your files, you will need to use the same software to restore the files to the new computer.
If it was with the WD Smartware, please see the page 49 of the user manual for detailed information on how to retrieve your files.

I’ve looked at the user manual and I don’t have any of the application files on my new computer. I just have the passport Ultra plugged into the USB drive. So, can I install this ,exe file to get things rolling?
WD Apps Setup.exe
If not, what do I do to get the software onto the new computer so that I can retrieve the files. I hesitate to do anything out of fear of erasing what is already on the passport Ultra. I originally used the automatic Smartware backup to save files to the Passport
Thanks
Hi,
Yes, you can install the WD Apps on the new pc.
Also, you can download the apps from the WD Site.
See if the following link helps.
