I recently backed up a netbook which is currently not functional, and need to transfer the files from my Passport Ultra to my new laptop, but since there are no instructions explaining how to do this, I am stuck. When plugged into the laptop, the retrieve tab doesn’t provide any way to proceed. The more step-by-step, the better. Thanks!
THe source netbook was running Windows 7 Professional, and the new laptop has Windows 8.1, if that helps.

You can also try going directly to the backup folder. This folder is called “WDSmartware.Swstor” and it is located on the root of your passport drive. Here you will find all the backed up files and you can just copy them to the new computer.
