I already saved all the files I needed to on my WD my book essentials 1 tb and would like to add mac files to it. When ever I try to add files from my mac it always give me an error message. I spesificly want movies, music and pictures I had saved but no file will transfer. Is there any way to have both files from PC and Mac without wiping either of them out?

If the drive were formatted FAT32, then both Mac and PC could read and write to ti, but there are several other issues with trying to do things that way.
Macs can only see NTFS drives as read-only… that’s why you can’t write to it. Your best bet is to download a free driver for your Mac that will allow it full access to NTFS drives: NTFS-3g
