External Hard Drive not working

When viewing hard drive in computer management, It shows Disk 2 unknown. If I click on initial disk it gives me an option for MBR or GPT. After I select an option and click okay an error pops up. Screen shot below shows what option I have. Is there anyway to access the hard drive and save my files? It is a wd 1.5TB external hard drive. I am using a external USB kit to connect to the computer. Please see all screen shots below.

Why are you using an USB kit if this is a “1.5TB external” WD drive?

Initializing is not the best idea if you want to retrieve your data.

Try a data recovery software. 

What data recovery software would you reccommend
