I have a WD Passport GO Portable that has a very short USB cable.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to use a USB extension cable and if so, any recommendations?
Is it also possible to convert the USB 3.0 connection to a USB-C connection and will the hard drive continue to function?

The reason for the short cable is due to power losses with longer ones
Not many USB disks with USB-C yet but that will change soon
I need a cable to connect the WD Passport (USB-A) to an iMac with USB-C. Can someone recommend best cable/adapter that minimises power loss (although not a big issue).
