Do all drives have to be identical for RAID 5

I want to populate the remaining two bays in my EX4100 NAS. Curently I have 2 x 4.0 TB (WDC WD40EFRX-68N32N0) HDDs in Bays 1 and 2 configured for RAID 0.

Do I need to expand with identical drives for RAID5 or can I use larger or faster drives?

Does anyone have a recommendations as to which drives I should choose?

Many thanks in anticipation

Hi,

You could refer to the following link: My Cloud: Upgrade the Drives on a Device (RAID Expansion)

Thank you very much for taking the trouble to reply. Actually I had already seen that link which describes how to perform the conversion but doesn’t tell me what drives I need to add to the existing set of two. I still do not know whether all four drives need to be identical for a RAID5 configuration or I can add some larger/faster ones.
