Disk vibration?

So I recently got a wd8002purp 8TB purple pro.
I attached it to the Ubiquiti UNVR standard.

When starting the drive I get quite a bit of vibration and it manifests in quite an audible humming noise. I actually have another switch placed on top of my NVR which dampens the noise quite a bit but it is still audible.

The equipment is stored behind a closet but it is audible throughout the whole house. I have followed the vendor instructions to install the HDD as per UBIQUITI UNVR UniFi Protect NVR Network Video Recorder User Guide , although it is not rack mounted.

Is this normal behaviour? It’s like a hum of a fridge only louder.

vibration is typical with hard disks. I use usb cases and they have vibration management using mounts etc.

Now your video recorder box should be fine for the disk in it. Make sure all mounting components are used to secure the disk.
