Check out the JBOD on that!

Hi All,

Sorry New boy on the block. I have EX4100 1 x 4TB setup on JBOD #Obvs. I have 3 x 4TB on the way, if I chuck these in with the 1 x 4TB will it allow me to create all 4 x 4TB as a Raid 5? Without loosing the data on the 1 Drive currently installed.

Thanks in advance

Paul.

@Prittaler

Maybe you might be able to create a 3 x 4TB RAID 5 on the three new drives in addition to the 1 x JBOD that you have now and then migrate your data from the JBOD to the RAID5, and once completed, be able to re-purpose the JBOD drive in the RAID5 to make it a 4 x 3TB RAID5.

No.

Sorry. You must copy it off then back onto your new RAID.

EDIT:
not relative to this case but it might be of help later…
