appeared in the app store on my wdmycloud single bay. Everything was working fine then just would not connect to plex suppose i shouldn’t have uninstalled it now i cant get in back.
I D/L the plex media server from plex for OS 5.
But when i go to install manually its says updating then “Unable to upload app package for installation. Please check your network connection and try again”
Using Winscp then putty using the command My Cloud OS 5 cd /mnt/HD/HD_a2/Nas_Prog rm -rf plex_conf
there is no plex_config.
All there is is _install
I have done the 40 second reset with no difference.
Currently the single bay/single drive My Cloud only supports the following apps.
GoodSync
Internal Backups
iTunes Server
Remote Backups
Twonky Server
USB Backups
The Twonky Server is a basic DLNA media server. There may be ways to force install an unsupported app from another My Cloud model using the manual installation method in the link above. But there is no guarantee such a method will work or run properly.
It has been running plex for over 6 yrs. Manually installed it at the time then I had a problem with plex so I uninstalled it but I didn’t stop it before I uninstalled plex. Then that’s when i couldn’t install the latest version. When i choose to manually install a window comes up and says updating not installing the app.
Then you’d likely have to reinstall it using what ever manual method you used to install Plex. The single bay My Cloud has never officially supported having Plex installed on it.
Thanks for that Bennor i got an old version of plex from the bottom link that installed. Then installed the update and now its all up and running thanks again
