Can't attach a second WD Drive

I have two My Passport drives. Both work when attached on their own, but when one is plugged in the second never appears.

I have tried the solution here Can't use Two My Passport Essential at the same time - #8 by DiscJocky, and successfully changed the Unique Disk ID, but it does not make any difference.

I tried reformatting one of the drives, as suggested here - Can you connect 2 passports at the same time? - #7 by Nathan_H - but that didn’t work either.

And when I run diskmgmt.msc, then I only see one of the drives.

What should I do next?

Ha! - it turns out one of my USB ports has failed…

So, problem solved :slight_smile:
