I’ve tried three with my Elements 16tb and had problems with all of them. I’ve never had a problem with a Micro USB 3.0 to USB-A cable on the drive.
For a good Micro-B USB 3.0 to USB-C cable for your WD Elements 16TB drive, try Anker Powerline+, Cable Matters, or AmazonBasics. Make sure it supports fast data transfer (up to 5Gbps) and fits both your drive and device. Stick with trusted brands to avoid connection problems.
