Best way to organize music for iTunes

I wonder if anyone figures a way how to best organize music files for presentation in iTunes. Here is what I mean…

I stored my music on the drive inside the Sahred Music folder on two levels: Collections Name Folder > Collection Subname Folder > Songs. In iTunes “Playlists” view my music appears sorted in playlists according to the “Collection Subname Folder” name. However, not for all folders/songs. I know iTunes can see all my files and folders, but somehow it chooses to show as playlists just some of the folders and not the other.

My guess would be there is a hidden files that tells iTunes to terat a folder as Playlist, but it’s only a guess. Any ideas?

iTunes does not read folders, but will organise the songs according to the metadata assigned to each song. You can choose whether to allow myCloud to follow the folder structure that iTunes has in place, or deselect that option
