Backing Up My Cloud Home

Just purchased this device and understood the data stored on the drive could be backed up to a USB Drive.

What is the best way to achieve this e.g. is there separate software required for this and if so what is recommended?

Unfortunately the link does not answer the question I asked. Please re-read. I have decide to return the product due to poor functionality, performance and support.
