Backdrop delay (WD TV is switching between Backdrop and black Background)

Hi.

WD TV SMP (the newest)

I’ve disabled the Media Library. My Files are on a QNAP NAS.

The Folder Structure is the following:

QNAP > Videos > TV > XYZ >Season 1 > xyzS01E01.mkv … xyzS01E02.mkv …

For each mkv File I’ve created with “TV DB XML Fetcher” XML Files and Thumbnails. Works great.

I dont want to see different backdrops, so I choose one (named it backdrop.jpg) and edited all the XML Files by adding

backdrop.jpg

Now the problem:

When I scroll in Gallery Mode through the Thumbnails the Player is showing the backdrop, then a black background and again the backdrop.

It is a 256KB File, why is there such a delay??

It should be “there” without any interuptions.

Is there a “backdrop showing delay parameter” in the theme I can change?

Well, first, this is the theme forum for the HUB, not the SMP.

However, the SMP and the HUB have the same operation.  So to answer your question, yes the delay should be there, this how the firmware handles the backdrops.

The only thing that you can do is to go into Setup, then select Photo Settings.  In the Photo Settings menu, select “Slideshow Transition” and set it to “Fade”, then select “Slideshow Interval Time” and set it for “5 minutes”.  This will make the backdrop semi-static, but there is no way to stop the delay in the initial display of the backdrop.

Is there anything change with new THemes or new Frmwares???

I hate this delay…

just get used to it… because you can’t reduce the delay or just disable it completely if really annoying
