Avoid standby / hibernation of the external WD Elements 3,5 HDD?

After some time of inactivity of that external drive


it switches to standby or hibernation, the LED blinks.

How could I avoid this?

Hello,

Depending on the drive that you have, you should be able to control that from the WD Smartware settings tab.

Also, most of the drives will go to sleep once the PC goes to standby.
