Does The WD 2 TB USB 3.0 Elements Desktop Hard Drive Hibernate?

Hi .

I am going to need to buy 3 new external Hard drives to replace my current full WD ones which are full.

My current Green Element ones sleep or hibernate I believe.

I like this feature.

Question ;

Do the WD 2 TB USB 3.0 Elements Desktop Hard Drive for Plug-and-Play Hibernate or Sleep or do they run all the time even if not being used ?

Also do they have a ON/OFF switch ?

Hello, all WD Elements go into stand by mode after certain amount of time without use. The one you are looking into buying does have a power button.

Got the WD Elements 4 TB USB 3.0 a month ago, to use as the backup option for WD My Cloud 4 TB. It properly goes to sleep mode when inactive. Now, if only the WD My Cloud could do the same, this would be perfect.
