Android app not streaming anymore

Up until recently (perhaps the firmware upgrade to v4.04.04-101, maybe the mobile app upgraded same time?) I could stream video files on my Android devices within the My Cloud app. Now I get a blank screen with a little info icon at the bottom and the Cast button top-right. The info button shows a wd2go.com URL (I’m on local Wifi, is it really going out to public server and back instead of just direct over the LAN?). However if I download the file, then it will play in the app. So it’s not a file format problem (and like I said the same files worked until just recently).

Hello,

Have you tried reinstalling the app?

The current version of the app is 4.4.7.2

I wiped all user data and cache, which should restore it to a fresh install state. May as well try full reinstall though. I did find out that the video streaming still works on my tablet, so it seems to be just the one device.

ok, so this is ridiculous. I renamed a file from m4v to mp4 and it started streaming it, but it will only open . Even if I use Open With it doesn’t ask which app to use. Most of my files are named mp4. Again though, if I download the mp4 locally, then it opens with he expected app (Google Photos). I went and cleared the defaults for Photos, Gallery, and VLC and still WD Cloud app won’t ask me what to open the mp4 files with.
