I still use my old 1st Gen My Cloud, Firmware 4.05.00.3?? … not sure exactly which one. It is at 192.168.1.60 on my LAN. I can still see, copy, delete files etc. using \\wdmycloud.
I haven’t found a way to display the My Cloud dashboard though. I used to be able to get to the using http://wdmycloud or http://192.168.1.60. This redirects to http://wdmycloud/UI. This gives me the following messages:
Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /UI on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Can anyone advise me on how I can get to the Dashboard, or is this no longer possible?
Make sure the computer or device you are using to access the My Cloud Dashboard is on the same local network IP subnet (example: 192.168.1.x) as the My Cloud and that it has the same “workgroup” name as the My Cloud.
You can try performing a 40 second pin reset of the My Cloud to see if that changes anything. Note: a 40 second reset is supposed to be non data destuctive, meaning it should not delete your data/files. It is only supposed to reset the My Cloud Dashboard settings to factory default.
Other things to check.
Make sure the computer or device is connected to the same local network as the My Cloud
Make sure the My Cloud is directly connected to the local network router or gateway (avoid connecting the My Cloud to any power line or wifi extenders)
Try a different web browser
Temporarily disable any web browser add-ons or extensions
Temporarily disable any third party security or anti virus software which might interfere with local network access
Check for and remove any Windows Credential entries for WD My Cloud in the Windows Credentials Manager
Ensure the My Cloud has a fixed IP address (either manually reserved in the router DHCP server or a static IP address)
If you right click on your device and look at its Properties what is showing for the address? See example image below. Click on, tap, or activate image to enlarge it.
