Have 3 brand new 2T Gold drives made by February 2018 Malaysia (internal) and recognized on power off the PC & some louder noise on all 3 disks. Is this normal and expected?
While do not have this on my Black 500GB drives.

You should follow this KBA to check if the noise or sound of an internal drive is normal or not.

However, if it is not then contact Western Digital Support Portal to replace hard drive under warranty period.
The KBA tells NOTHING about the spin down noise (head landing). I did a reply on that matter that spin down noise is here not covered!!!
Look at other tread about spin down noise even on Black brands.
While have lot of WB black/blue brands and without such mars landing noise 
That’s why I started this topic. And would like to have a WD engineer who knows the last given Gold/Black brands
