Alternate to using dashboard for a safe point help

If you use the forum search feature (magnifying glass icon upper right) you’ll find several past discussions on alternatives to using Safepoint to backup a My Cloud. Typically they involve using SSH which one has to enable through the Dashboard to access the My Cloud at the firmware level and use linux commands like rsync to initiate a copy of My Cloud files/data to another location.

I posted an alternative to Safepoint under a previous posting commencing “Happy accident…”. The move to the new forum style corrupted the formatting. Here, for anyone who wants it is my original post, correctly formatted.
