Will there be a next gen Wireless Pro?

Has any user identified an alternate product or found a work around to the now unsupported/disabled wifi capability?

The SD back up capability is still valuable - a need to play for my application, but the elimination of wireless connectivity has broken my workflow while in the field.
Thanks

Dang. The WD Wireless Pro is my favorite piece of tech that just no longer has a use.

I really wanted this to work. . . .but the original versions were just a bit too big and a bit underpowered. I really liked the SD card reader function for field backups of SD cards. I used the drive to stream music and video to tablets when travelling. Not sure I have traveled with this for a few years.

Ultimately. . .I ended up with a SSD external drive and a MS Surface tablet. When travelling. . .I netflix is available in more places than you think (like India and Western Europe). Plus. . . if you buy a tablet than can take a 1TB microSD card. . . . . do you really need to stream from a WIFI HDD?

Having said that. . . if I could buy a 4TB SSD with a wifi chip and a battery. . . .I would jump on it in heartbeat. . .but frankly only geeks would want such a device. . .and there are not enough of us around.
