Which 3.5" drive is currently recommended for an HTPC

James.G WDStaff has advised:
WD Purple if you compare it with WD AV-GP. Reason: - WD Purple drives are built for 24/7, always-on, high-definition with a supported workload rate1 of up to 180 TB/yr. WD’s exclusive AllFrame 4K™ technology, so you can confidently create a system tailored to your needs .

So “James.G WDStaff” says I CAN use WD Purple

On this thread: Wd purple used for PVR? - #5 by Hans_Brel
“CK_WD WDStaff” advised:
The WD Red drives are specifically designed for NAS and RAID environments, they have a smaller RPM of 5400 for more steady performance and specific NAS features. The WD Purple is for surveillance, you can check my previous post (and its hyperlinks). Either of these wouldn’t be the right fit or design to use in your PVR, which I see can handle 3.5’’ drives in any capacity.

So “CK_WD WDStaff” says do NOT use WD Purple

So which one is it?
