What are best practices for deleting large files from MyCloud Home?

Per WD support “When selected files are deleted using the My Cloud Home web or mobile app, the files are marked for deletion. The removal of the files are processed as a “file delete batch job” on the My Cloud Home that runs as a background process.” Given this process used by the MyCloud Home device, what are the best practices to follow when there is a need to delete large files (or a large number of files) from the device? Which is the most efficient method/practice?
