WD TV Gen 1 and CRT problems

I’m trying to setup WD TV HD Media player generation 1 with a CRT TV. However, when connected (through composite of course), the screens keeps scrolling, making it hard to recognize or read anything. I tried updating the firmware and resetting the WD TV, but it still doesn’t fix the problem.

I was able to set this up with my LCD (composite and HDMI) without problems.

Any help appreciated.

Take a paperclip and push the reset button on the side of the unit, located next to the USB1 port and hold the button down for longer than 10 seconds… the box should set itself back to NTSC from PAL.
