I am referring to the WD Anywhere Backup software and not the WD Sync.
WD Anywhere Backup, which was the previous back up solution had a purge deleted files option to get rid of the files that had been deleted in the source drive.
How can you remove old deleted files from the back up in WD Smartware? I would like to free up space in the end hard drive, so I am presuming there is a method to do so. Or does the software do that automatically when the backup HD runs out of space?
Currently, WD Smartware does not have that feature included.
You can try deleting the files manually going through the drive and inside the backup folder. It will show the folder like if you were looking at your computer.
Thanks for the reply. Does this mean I need to delete every single duplicate file manuall?
On retrieval, when I un-select old filesand deleted files, they still appear, so if I retrieve it would retreive everything that had been deleted from the source. Is that correct?
