The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. What does this mean??
The model is WD my passport 0748 500 GB P/N: WDBKXH5000ABL-01

An Input/Output device error means a physical communication/databridge malfunction. If replacing your hard drive’s USB cable does not allow for your unit to be recognized (In this or in another system), then the hard drive itself will need to be replaced.
