Unable to enter into the external drive

Hi

I have copied some data in My Passport external drive 1TB earlier.  However, while copying my data, due to power fluctuations (even though the system is connected to  APC UPS) the system got hanged and rebooted.  From then onwards

whenever I connect the passport external drive to the system it is showing a I/O error and after a long time it will recognise and give some letter say H: in the explorer.

When I verified with device manager, I could see it as WD- .

WD data diagnostics software could not identify the drive.

How do I recover the data from this error ?  what is it I have to do to see that data is recovered and drive is made reuable.

thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the WD community.

Try connecting the drive to a different computer, or perhaps using a different USB cable or port to see if you can access the drive.
