WD My Book Not Recognized by PC or Mac

I have two WD My Book 1tb external hard drives that I bought on sale in 2010. I decided to use one and keep the other one in its box until I need it. So after 7 years, I have finally max. out the space on that external HD. When I plugged in the other drive, my PC was not recognizing it nor was my Mac. All I see is a white light blinking (slowly) on the front.

Does anyone knows what the problem can be? I definitely can’t return it since it’s been 7 years since I purchase the drive. I did some research and the only thing I keep seeing is people mentioning about there can be an encryption problem.

Thank you.

Hello, Optical24

Well, you can follow the given knowledge base article in order to resolve the issue.

Update: I have solved the problem.

After removing the hard drive out of the case, I pulled out the PCB board. I then tested the hard drive by connecting a SATA cable from the hard drive to the PC. The PC automatically detected it. Therefore, there must be a problem with the PCB board itself. However, when I re-inserted the PCB board back onto the hard drive the PC and the Mac both detected the hard drive
