Hello all…I want to preface my question by mentioning I am a novice in the wold of computers and external hard drives, so please forgive me if I appear to not know much…so here it goes. I am looking to purchase a power supply for my hard drive. It has 6 pin holes and is an old hd I’m trying to power up on my old Mac desktop. The WD HD is encased in a coolmax shell. I’ve looked at a handful of power supplies online and want to make sure I purchase the right one. Unfortunately I can’t find the hd on wd site so I’d like to ask if someone could advise which power supply would be appropriate. I am attaching the specs of the wd hd for reference; thank you I’m advance for any guidance.
Contact Coolmax, as this has nothing to do with Western Digital … you’re asking for support for a 3rd party device that WD doesn’t even make, and the power supply you need will depend on what the Coolmax enclosure supports, and has nothing to do with the WD hard drive.

If they can’t help, then go out and buy any IDE/SATA USB External Enclosure and it will work with the WD 500GB hard drive … and don’t lose the power supply that comes with it.
