Hi all, the battery in my wireless passport expended and pushed out from the casing. I am worry that it might explode. Any idea if we can change/replace the battery ?
This was a common problem and there are threads all about it here. Search this MPW forum for “bloated battery”. You should also contact WD Support.
Also stop using the MPW until fixed.

Certainly contact support this is a safety issue that they will have to handle for you without cost as it represents a serious design issue.
The general cause of battery swelling is defective charge control from the MPW itself or the on board controller which is integral to the battery.
