Subtitle and auto stop

I brought my wd smp a week ago performance well its great for me its worth it, but I encounter 2 problems…

First regarding subtitle when I play mkv files with hard code some of them shows the subtitle but most of my hard coded movie can’t show the subtitle using my wd smp…

Second I have movie that when I watch its stop automaticaly around 1 to 2 mins…

I hoping that you can help me guys… thank you…

Firmware 1.16.13

  1. “Hard Coded” Subtitles are encoded in the video.

If they are “Embedded” or “External” subtitles then press the Option button during playback to select available subtitles

  1. If your movie “stops” after a minute or two … then the file is dodgy (either corrupt or incompatible)

post a Mediainfo output log file

http://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo

After installing on your PC … (On your video file right click and open with Mediainfo select View > Tree then File > Export >Text > Save then open the *.txt file and copy and paste the info here)

If it’s hardcoded it’s burned into the videostream and therefore cannot be turned off. So it’s probably not flagged ok but the WDTV ignore’s the forced flag anyway. So check out what track you want and how it’s flagged with MKVToolnix’s header editor.

thank you for the quick reply mr joey smith, but I already did what you say it still wd smp didnt recognize the subtitle but when I play file on my pc all the subtitle recognize and regarding to the file that stop automatically I did the same way I play on my PC the the file was ok didnt stop automatically… this is the one of my files the wd smp didnt recognize the subtitle and stop automaticaly…

thank you I hope this is the solution to my problem. but what about the auto stop issue do you have solution there?

dunno, maybe try striping out the unwanted subtitles and keep and compress the one you require

16 uncompressed subtitles might be causing it to ‘stop / choke’

sorry, i’m not a a PGS expert … will leave it for others to chime in
