Safety unplugging issue - WD My Passport for Mac

Hi,

I have just bought a WD 2 TB My Passport for Mac.

When I safely eject the drive before unplugging the drive, the drive stops and switches off for 2 seconds, but immediately after it turns on again (the light too), and I can feel the disk is rotating.

The device is ejected, meaning that even after it turns on again it doesn’t appear on my mac.

So basically I unplug it and the disk stops rotating, making a “clak” sound.

Is this normal? Is this happening to you, or is your disk turning off completely after ejecting it?

Thank you and best regards

Hello ale777,

That is normal as you safely eject the drive all the logical connections are closed. However, power connection still remains until you disconnect the drive from the computer.
