After a successful backup from our HP Laptop to the My Book Essential, the address location to the My Book disappeared from the File Folder. We removed the USB and re-plugged it in. It still did not appear. I pushed the Power button to give the My Book a rest and the internal light remained lit. I then unplugged the power cord to the My Book and left it off for 30 seconds.
When we turned the My Book back on and plugged the USB in, the address once again appeared in the File Folder. We clicked on the “Unlock” icon and the following message appeared.
"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.
After that, every time we click on the Unlock file, we get the response that the folder is already “unlocked,” yet nothing appears in the File Folder.
Is there any way that we can get past this error message to access our backed-up files.
