My G-RAID failed and I’m almost 100% sure it was hard drive failure. Tech support said I should throw it away. Can I re-use the enclosure by installing new drives? This is an old G-RAID model, the old drives are 2 x 2TB Hitachi 7200rpm from 9/2011, this is not a swappable drive, I broke the seal to get inside. Will it work if I put two new ones in? Do they need to be the exact same drives? Thanks!
If the enclosure itself is still good you can try using it with a new set of drives. They don’t have to be identical to what shipped with it but you will want to make sure they are identical to each other.
