Remove HD to transfer files

just bought another WD TV Live Hub 1tb. don’t want to network it. just want to put files on it and use other part of home.
my question is has anyone taken the HD out of the unit and transfered files and put it back in…and have it work ok ?
thanks for reading

Yes, on 2 occasions I dismantled the WDTV Live Hub and removed the Internal HDD plugged directly into my PC Sata port to copy files.

No Problems

Be aware, this will void your Warranty       (my WDTV Live Hub is well out of it’s Warranty period)

If you don’t want to void warranty … then an external hdd plugged in the hub’s usb and copy’n’move is faster than Networking.

(but not as fast as the above removal procedure)

thanks a lot

got it off e bay so no  Warranty i guess to worry about
have a great weekend

no probs

Even if you bought it off EBAY you could/should check to see if it’s still under Warranty

eg. Western Digital Harddrives sold on EBAY can still be covered by Warranty
