Recycle Bin Corrupt

Has anyone ever resolved the “Recycle Bin on H-Drive corrupt” issue? I’ve tried the Elevated Command Prompt suggested in Microsoft’s community but my computer states it doesn’t recognize the “/q” parameter. Using a My Passport. So, any suggestions? Thanks.

This is likely a Windows issue. The links below may be helpful:

Thanks Great Scott. Tried these before without success. When I run the administrative command prompt “rd /s /q E:$Recycle.bin” I get a response that says the “q” parameter isn’t recognized. So, no resolution. I appreciate your time and the courtesy of your reply. Better luck next time - for both of us.

Sorry to hear that didn’t work - odd that /q isn’t recognized…

Have you tried the steps listed as “Method 2” in the article below? It’s a bit more manual but some folks are saying online that this solved the problem. As I’ve never come across this particular windows issue, the best I can do is rely on information other folks have posted online and hope one of them resolves the issue.

You might also want to consider posting on technet - someone from Microsoft may be able to give you better advice. If you do, link to the thread here so anyone who comes across this in the future can see what they say.

Great Scott!

I’m using Windows 10 but managed to use the information in Method 2 to directly delete the Recycle Bin on the affected drive. A restart went without incident. However, after shutting down and starting the computer, the problem still persists. So, I’m out of options.

Again, I appreciate your time and interest.
